Overview

The Bess and Moe Greenberg Family Hillel Lodge of Ottawa has been a cornerstone of the Jewish community for more than 60 years, delivering high-quality, values-based long-term care. With the existing endowment ($18M), we are poised for growth and recognize the pressing need to modernize our aging facility to serve the community's growing demands. You can find more information on our website at www.Hillel-ltc.com.

The Project & Campaign Vision

To ensure our home can provide optimal care in a modern, warm, and caring setting, there is a pressing need for a once-in-a-lifetime campaign to raise the funds needed to carry Hillel into the future, funding critical infrastructure upgrades and developing innovative programming.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will assist in developing the philanthropic case for support and will complete a feasibility study to evaluate our readiness and the philanthropic climate. Key components include:

Development of the Case for Support

Working with leadership, the successful group will leverage their superior storytelling skills and knowledge of the philanthropic sector to develop a compelling, wellarticulated case for support that tells Hillel’s story, creates a sense of urgency and compels philanthropic investments and volunteer engagement.

Market Analysis

Using your superior knowledge of the sector, assess the philanthropic landscape to identify potential leadership volunteers and donors, identify new funding sources, determine timing, suggest potential partnerships, etc.

Readiness Assessment and Recommendations

Assess both the current Foundation Board of Directors and the office’s ability to effectively execute a capital campaign. This includes, but is not limited to, a review of policies and procedures, an assessment of infrastructure and staffing levels, and an evaluation of the board of directors' and senior leadership’s roles in both the foundation and the lodge to carry out their roles in a Capital Campaign. Making recommendations on how to fill gaps and the ideal structure for a successful capital campaign.

Stakeholder Engagement

Conduct intentional interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders, including philanthropic leaders in the community, current and prospective volunteer leadership, and donors to assess their willingness to support a Capital Campaign. We expect a significant portion of the meetings to be one-on-one.

Goal Structuring

Provide strategic recommendations on an achievable stretch campaign financial goal, a road map to campaign success.
