The Role

Wellesley Institute is currently working on a range of research projects which aim to improve health equity in Ontario. To support this work, we are seeking a researcher to work with our team on primary care research with equity-deserving populations and on the social determinants of health. This position will report to the CEO through our Director of Research.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

  • Degree at the Master’s level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health equity, the social determinants of health and issues related to primary care.
  • Expertise in a range of research methods, including environmental scans, literature reviews, qualitative interviews and focus groups.
  • Experience coordinating or managing research projects and supporting researchers through the planning and implementation of research projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and thematically analyze descriptive content and data from a variety of source materials, including primary and secondary data sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and document findings to develop policy-relevant recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience with data management and analytics software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work on a collaborative team with others.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines among multiple tasks.

General Information

Wellesley Institute is located in downtown Toronto. This is an on-site position. We are currently working a hybrid of onsite/remote but may return to on-site only.
