The Role

Wellesley Institute is currently working on a range of research projects which aim to improve health equity in Ontario. To support this work, we are seeking a researcher to work with our team on primary care research with equity-deserving populations and on the social determinants of health. This position will report to the CEO through our Director of Research.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

  • Degree at the Master’s level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health equity, the social determinants of health and issues related to primary care.
  • Expertise in a range of research methods, including environmental scans, literature reviews, qualitative interviews and focus groups.
  • Experience coordinating or managing a research project and supporting researchers through the planning and implementation of community-focused research projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and thematically analyze descriptive content and qualitative data from a variety of methodologies, including key informant interviews and focus groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and document findings to develop policy-relevant recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience with data management and analytics software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work on a collaborative team with others.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines among multiple tasks.

General Information

Wellesley Institute is located in downtown Toronto. This is an on-site position. We are currently working a hybrid of onsite/remote but may return to on-site only.

Wellesley Institute has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy in place. Employees are required to get COVID-19 booster vaccinations promptly when they become eligible and only those who are willing to meet these criteria should apply for this position. Wellesley Institute will comply with the Ontario Human Rights Code requirements regarding exemption requests.
