The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a national non-profit organization working to create an environment where girls, women, and gender-diverse individuals in Canada can pursue their interests, education, and careers in STEM without barriers. Position Overview

SCWIST is seeking a research analyst to support research activities that strengthen SCWIST’s impact and advance equity for girls, women and gender-diverse individuals in STEM.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection: Assist in designing and implementing surveys, interviews, and focus groups.

Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to identify best practices and existing research on key topics.

Data Analysis: Clean, code, and analyze both quantitative (e.g., survey data) and qualitative (e.g., interview transcripts) data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and qualitative analysis tools.

Reporting: Contribute to drafting research reports, presentations, and academic papers.

Project Coordination: Assist with project logistics, including scheduling interviews, managing data files, and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science/ social sciences discipline, OR a degree in any other discipline where the candidate can demonstrate relevant research skills.

Research Skills: Demonstrated experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Experience with data analysis software is essential.

Subject Matter Knowledge: A foundational understanding of issues related to gender equity, STEM careers, and workforce development is a strong asset.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous and organized, with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks.
