About us
Devxchange International is a Canadian registered charity that works with community organizations around the world to improve education, health, income, agriculture, and access to clean water. We do this through charitable grants and ongoing oversight that help community-based initiatives grow and succeed.
The Uganda Education Program focuses on helping children access quality education by improving school conditions, strengthening learning programs, and supporting local leaders who are making a difference. Our volunteers play a key role in communication, coordination, and helping ensure this work is well-supported each year.
What you will do
As a Project Lead Volunteer, you will support Devxchange in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for the Uganda Education Program. This includes:
Coordinating administrative tasks associated with the grant
Supporting communication between Devxchange and the approved Ugandan grantee organization
Assisting with planning, documentation, and reporting required for CRA-compliant oversight
Monitoring progress updates and assisting with verification of activities completed under the grant
Supporting Devxchange’s annual fundraising efforts by helping raise charitable funds toward the yearly funding target approved for this initiative
Preparing reports and updates for Devxchange staff and stakeholders
Helping ensure all activities remain aligned with Devxchange’s charitable purposes and accountability standards
What we are looking for
- Required: Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Required: Experience in project management and marketing.
- Optional: Previous volunteer experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with international development or education programs
- Marketing or fundraising experience
- Interest in travelling to Uganda approximately every three years to contribute to in-person evaluation processes (optional and self-funded)
