Position Overview
Working under the direction of the Development Director, the Relationship Manager works to power UWGWD’s role in a shared responsibility for social good. As part of the development team, the Relationship Manager maximizes community impact by creating engaging giving experiences for key workplace campaigns and volunteers. The Relationship Manager also helps diversify revenue by implementing strategies developed in the annual operational plan.

Role Responsibilities
- Manages and supports workplace partners during the workplace campaign to sustain and grow revenue, including goal setting and campaign strategy, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed and completing a post campaign evaluation.
- Engage with key volunteers and build strong, mutually beneficial relationships ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to be successful, and that they understand the impact of their support.
- Provide input and execute fundraising strategy to maximize and diversify revenue by enhancing current, and implementing new, revenue streams including but not limited to Corporate Gifts, Major Gifts, and Sponsorship.
- Conduct ongoing internal and external prospecting research to identify new opportunities to cultivate and expand partnerships and fundraising within the community – with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility alignment and growing sponsorship.
- Lead all elements of the Ultimate Burger Battle including restaurant solicitation, sponsorship and program logistics.
- Enhance individualized and impactful donor communications to increase engagement on social issues and help donors understand the impact of their gift.
- Deliver impactful communications during partnership calls and community presentations to help increase the understanding of the role of United Way as a leader for social good.
- Support third party events and other United Way events.
- Effectively use our CRM (Andar) to capture donor data, plan and monitor fundraising effectiveness.
- Attend key community events and activities as a way to promote the UWGWD mission, vision and core values becoming a defined community ambassador for United Way.
Requirements
- Experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a relevant post-secondary degree, diploma, or post-degree certificate along with 2+ years experience in fundraising or a related field. Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Direct experience in corporate giving is considered an asset.
- A self-starter who is results-driven to initiate donor visits, fundraising/sponsorship calls and who is focused and motivated to meet/exceed financial targets.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate passionately to inspire community support and impact.
- Experience using a CRM to capture data, provide analysis and create reports.
- Comfortable with developing financial projections and analysis.
- Adept with technology including experience with Office365 and online fundraising tools. Champions anti-racism/anti-oppression, diversity, equity and inclusion and applies this lens to your work.
- A driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Here’s what we have to offer
- A full-time (35 hours/week), permanent position with a comprehensive benefits package (salary range of $60,000 - $67,000), 3 weeks paid vacation, opportunities for training & development, 12 paid days of personal time off to support the full scope of employee wellbeing, 100% employer paid health and dental benefits and 6% employer RRSP contributions.
- Paid statutory holidays include September 30 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day) and three float days for other dates of personal or religious significance.
