$67,776.80 - $82,373.20/year – based on 35 hours/week
Job Summary: The Registered Dietitian provides dietetic and nutritional care to clients and community members, using a holistic approach to health promotion, illness prevention and chronic disease prevention and management. The Registered Dietitian also participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition and food security programs and services for individuals, couples, groups, families and the community. The Registered Dietitian is part of the Community Health Team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform nutritional assessments, development of client-centered nutritional plans, health education/counseling and other clinical services based on evidence-based counselling practices and the College of Dietitians of Ontario standards of practice.
- Perform case management functions, as appropriate
- Participate in the delivery of dietary guidance and recommendations related to BQWCHC Diabetes Pathway (individually and in groups)
- Perform and/or participate in community nutrition needs assessments, identifying barriers to adequate food security/ healthy eating and facilitating/ supporting related community initiatives
- Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counseling and health promotion programs and services for individuals, families and the community
- Advocate for clients and community on matters related to food security and healthy eating
- Collaborate with members of the BQWCHC interdisciplinary team and others to co-design and support client- centered goals toward optimal overall health
- Participate in chart reviews, case conferences, and other quality improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in food and nutrition from a recognized university
- Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship
- Registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Minimum of three years’ clinical counseling and community nutrition experience, preferably in a primary health care setting
- Comprehensive knowledge regarding nutritional principles, dietary strategies and professional practices
- Experience in program development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications, including experience with electronic health records.
- Flexibility for some evening hours in response to client(s) need
- Food Handling Certification an asset.
