Refugee Support Volunteer

Appropriate for volunteers 18 and older

We are seeking two individuals to work with us as Refugee Support volunteers. This role is suitable for people who are passionate about helping refugees and newcomers to the Kingston area. This is a great opportunity to connect with the refugee sponsorship community and be a friendly and supportive contact to those we serve. This is also a great opportunity for newcomers and students to develop career skills. We will respond to applicants within 5-7 business days.

A 1-hour orientation will be provided

This is an in-person role

Vulnerable Persons CPIC required

Tasks include:

Answering phone calls

Triaging e-mail request

Meeting with individuals inquiring about the program

Assisting with basic office tasks

Possible events

Commitment (6 hours per week)

M-W (2 to 5pm)

Thursday (9 – 12 or 1-4)
