real-world skill-building for young people. We deliver programs and opportunities that help
youth build confidence, practical experience, and future-ready skills through mentorship,
community partnerships, and hands-on learning.
Placement Overview (Remote)
The Recruitment & Onboarding Assistant supports YBIB’s hiring and onboarding processes by
helping source candidates, coordinate interviews, and support onboarding workflows. This
placement is ideal for a student who’s organized, professional, and interested in people
operations and HR coordination in a nonprofit setting. Reports to: Board Chair
What You’ll Work On
1) Job Posting & Outreach
• Support job posting and outreach across platforms (CharityVillage, LinkedIn, and other job boards)
• Help refresh role postings and ensure details are clear and consistent
• Support outreach to schools/programs and community networks as needed
2) Applicant Review & Interview Coordination
• Review incoming applications and help organize candidate shortlists
• Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications
• Support the interview process (prep support, note-taking, tracking next steps)
3) Onboarding & Orientation Support
• Support onboarding workflows (welcome emails, onboarding checklists, forms)
• Support onboarding presentations and orientation coordination as assigned
• Ensure new team members receive the right info and have a smooth start
4) Tracking & Process Support
• Maintain a recruitment tracker (roles posted, applicants, interview status, next steps)
• Keep files and templates organized (role descriptions, interview notes, onboarding docs)
Deliverables (what success looks like)
• A consistently updated recruitment tracker that clearly shows progress and next steps
• Smooth interview scheduling and reliable candidate follow-up communications
• Updated onboarding materials (checklist, templates, orientation support tools)
Ideal Candidate
• College/university student completing placement hours in HR, Business Administration, Office Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related program
• Strong communication skills, organization, and attention to detail
• Comfortable using (or learning) Google Suite, Trello, and WhatsApp
• Able to handle confidential information professionally
