Endeavour Consulting for Non-Profits is a Canadian charity that provides management consulting to improve organizational capacity and community impact for non-profits. We recruit, train and match teams of skilled volunteers with non-profit organizations in need of pro bono consulting. Our focus is on serving non-profit organizations that otherwise cannot afford professional consulting.

We are looking for a highly motivated and mission-driven Volunteer Recruiter to lead the sourcing, screening, and selection of pro bono Volunteer Consultants. This unpaid volunteer role requires a commitment of 1 to 2 years and plays a critical role in ensuring our consulting projects are staffed with exceptional talent.

Working closely with the Manager, Talent, the Recruiter supports the end-to-end volunteer recruitment process, including candidate outreach, screening, interviews, and recruitment events. The Recruiter helps build a strong pipeline of skilled volunteers for consulting and leadership roles while contributing to a diverse and engaged volunteer community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment execution

  • Lead the execution of volunteer recruitment activities for Endeavour’s consulting teams
  • Partner with the Partnerships Team and help promote volunteer opportunities through professional networks and community channels
  • Review applications and assess candidates against role requirements and Endeavour’s values
  • Conduct candidate interviews and case assessments as part of the Recruitment Committee
  • Develop candidate shortlists and provide recommendations for volunteer selection
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process

Candidate pipeline management

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential volunteers
  • Support outreach initiatives to attract diverse, high-quality candidates
  • Lead recruitment information sessions and represent Endeavour’s volunteer opportunities to prospective applicants

Collaboration

  • Partner with the Manager, Talent to ensure recruitment timelines and processes are executed effectively
  • Collaborate with the Talent Coordinator to manage candidate logistics and recruitment administration

Continuous improvement

  • Support the tracking of recruitment metrics and candidate pipeline data
  • Identify opportunities to enhance recruitment processes and candidate experience
  • Contribute to improvements in recruitment tools, resources, and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment: Ability to dedicate a minimum of 3–5 hours per week and commit to the role for at least one year. This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
  • Experience: Experience in full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a consulting, project-based, or high-volume environment. Experience recruiting skilled volunteer or pro bono talent is a strong asset.
  • Mindset: A strong commitment to the non-profit mission and the value of pro bono service. High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to assess candidates and conduct structured interviews
    • Ability to collaborate and deliver results in a remote volunteer environment
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Motivation and initiative to support recruitment initiatives
    • Ability to manage recruitment communications and follow up in a timely manner
    • Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend recruitment events
