About the Role

Procyon Wildlife’s Education Trailer is often the first in-person and phone-based point of contact for members of the public seeking help for wildlife in need. As a Volunteer Receptionist, you’ll play a vital role in welcoming visitors, answering calls, and supporting the daily operations that ensure sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife receive timely care.

Volunteer Receptionists provide calm, friendly assistance to the public, help coordinate wildlife admissions, share educational information about local wildlife, and support staff with administrative tasks. Your presence helps keep our organization running smoothly and compassionately.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Answering incoming phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately
• Assisting members of the public in person and by phone
• Educating the public about local wildlife and wildlife care guidelines
• Helping with wildlife admissions and coordinating intake information
• Supporting staff with data entry and administrative tasks
• Ensuring visitors and callers are treated with courtesy and compassion
• Representing Procyon Wildlife professionally at all times

Volunteer Requirements

To qualify as a volunteer, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Commit to a regular weekly schedule
• Be comfortable communicating with the public by phone and in person
• Treat all members of the public with respect, as we rely on community support
• Be reliable, organized, and able to remain calm in busy situations

Shift Schedule

• 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
