Receptionist Full time, permanent position – 37.5 hours per week

Estimated start date October 2025

Who are we?

Food is not the solution to food insecurity, but people need support today. Knowing this, we collect and distribute more than three million kilograms of food annually to 139-member food banks, meal programs, and shelters across the province. This equates to over $1 million worth of food each month. We also support member agencies as they build capacity to serve their communities, and partner with communities across Nova Scotia to explore innovative new solutions to food insecurity. While we help Nova Scotians meet a very basic need, we are raising awareness of the root causes of food insecurity - things like systemic racism, low wages, inadequate income support, and unaffordable housing. We believe all Nova Scotians deserve just, dignified, and secure access to food, and no one should have to rely on charity to meet their most basic needs.

The Opportunity

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for callers, donors, volunteers, and visitors. You are the organizational ambassador and a trusted community connector. The way you welcome, and support people sets the tone for their entire experience with Feed Nova Scotia and reflects our values of dignity, compassion, and inclusion.

In this role, every interaction matters. Whether you are greeting a donor making their first contribution, assisting a volunteer who is eager to give back, or responding to a community member in need, you help build trust and strengthen relationships that sustain our work.

This is a key role that connects people to our broader purpose of advancing food justice and supporting communities across Nova Scotia. Your ability to balance professionalism with empathy will directly shape how people see and experience Feed Nova Scotia, making you an integral part of our impact.
