Quest Outreach Society (Quest) is a dynamic non-profit organization that plays a pivotal role in advancing dignified food access across Metro Vancouver. Operating a network of low-cost, not-for-profit grocery markets, Quest has redefined how individuals experiencing food insecurity can access nutritious groceries with autonomy and respect. Through a unique model that blends food recovery, community partnerships, and sustainable practices, Quest rescues over 625,000 pounds of food each month and serves more than 10,000 individuals annually. With deep roots in social innovation and a clear mission to disrupt cycles of poverty, the organization continues to grow its impact while remaining grounded in its core values of dignity, access, and sustainability.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will serve as the strategic and operational leader, and guiding a passionate, values-aligned staff. The ED will be accountable for advancing the organization’s mission through robust program delivery, operational oversight, financial stewardship, and external engagement. This includes leadership of multi-site operations, food recovery logistics, revenue development, and people systems. As the primary ambassador for Quest, the ED will work closely with community partners, donors, and policymakers to enhance the organization’s public profile and deepen its systemic impact. The role also entails driving innovation in service delivery while supporting a high-performing, equity-informed workplace culture.

The ideal candidate has held senior leadership roles in mission-driven organizations, either private or not-for-profit, that deliver complex, community-based services in areas such as, but not limited to, food security, poverty reduction, or social enterprise. Bringing extensive experience managing multi-site operations, logistics, and strategic partnerships within social-impact environments. Demonstrates fluency in the unique dynamics of organizations that blend service delivery with commercial activities, including procurement, distribution, and client engagement. This leader will be adept at navigating growth and operational change, while strengthening internal systems and cultivating external partnerships. The successful candidate will demonstrate a grounded and warm presence, capable of guiding a mission-critical organization through its next phase of evolution with clarity, courage, and compassion.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an organization with deep community trust and enormous potential for scalable, systems-level impact. Based in Vancouver—one of North America's most liveable and culturally rich cities—the ED will have the chance to shape a model of food security that is both innovative and scalable. For leaders seeking to combine purpose-driven leadership with meaningful systems change, this role offers the platform and momentum to make a lasting difference.

The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 plus an annual bonus.
