Contract length: 10-35 per hours week (flexible); September 2025 to April 2026, or ongoing
*Note that while this intern position is geared toward a college or university placement student, other candidates who meet the requirements and can commit to a weekly time commitment of 10 hours a week (minimum) are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Support LFBS in developing a strong partnership network with like-minded organizations working toward child protection reform & deinstitutionalizing children toward family and community-based care
- Manage LFBS' Rotary Club partnerships portfolio, inclusive of speaking appearances and funding opportunities.
- Manage all public inquires from organizations and individuals seeking information from LFBS
- Assist LFBS in identifying opportunities for media coverage seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Research external events such as conferences, interviews, and promotional events and opportunities to increase LFBS brand awareness, and facilitate LFBS participation in these events
- Assist LFBS with writing newsletters, press releases, blog posts, fact sheets and other relevant documents
- Support the development of key messaging and narratives
Requirements
- Applicants must have reliable access to wifi as well as a laptop and smartphone for writing and posting
- A diploma or degree, or working toward a diploma or degree, in journalism, marketing, public relations, community development or international development is ideal but not required
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and communications skills in English
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Resourcefulness, innovation and adaptability
- Knowledge and understanding of development issues in the global south, anti-oppressive practice, and human rights
