Job Title: Psychotherapist and EarlyON Services Manager

Location: Scarborough/Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary

Duration: Starting as soon as possible, and ending December 31, 2026. There is a possibility of extension if funding is received for 2027.

Hours of Work: 8:30am -4:30pm (with some flexibility)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Salary Range: $50 - $60 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile leader to fill the dual role of Psychotherapist and EarlyON Services Manager who will develop new mental health programmes for the organization. The Psychotherapist and EarlyON Services Manager will provide high-quality counseling to children, youth, families and staff while overseeing the daily operations of our EarlyON Child and Family Centre. This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about early childhood development and family support.

Key Responsibilities

Funding & Program Development

  • Strategic Planning: Design new mental health programs that align with community needs and funder priorities for children, youth and families.
  • Revenue Diversification: Explore and secure innovative funding streams to expand child, youth, and family mental health services.
  • Grant Writing: Identify and lead the development of funding proposals for provincial, federal, and private foundations.
  • Outcome Reporting: Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to demonstrate program impact for donors and stakeholders.

Clinical Practice (Psychotherapist)

  • Use evidence-based approaches to help children, youth, families and staff manage challenges.
  • Provide and facilitate individual counselling sessions, as well as Psychotherapy/Service Coordination to parents as well as staff teams who have mental health concerns.
  • Develop and implement psycho-educational workshop series for parents with young children.
  • Provide crisis intervention as required.

Community Engagement

  • Develop outreach strategies to ensure services are inclusive and accessible to diverse populations.

Research, Develop and Promote Programs for Children and Families

  • The Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager is committed to building a system grounded in reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
    • The Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager will support families and promote healthy child development by building strong connections and facilitating access to services that enhance well-being.
    • The Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager must design programs which foster inclusive accessible, safe, and supportive environments that promote well-being and development.
    • Ensure that a variety of activities are planned and implemented as per funders requirements.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and develop future plans.
  • Supervise and mentor an Early Childhood Educator and Family Support Worker.
  • Manage program budget, provincial reporting and municipal reporting, and data collection.
  • Overseeing that the Black-Focused Programs provided are designed to center community voices, lived experiences, strengths, and needs of Black children and families. These programs create culturally safe and affirming spaces that support Black children and families.
  • Planning and decisions prioritize support for the marginalized communities which surround the centre, noticeably those of low income and black communities.
  • The Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager is responsible for overseeing that EarlyON programs are promoted adequately through applicable channels with a focus on prioritizing the diverse needs of the community while acknowledging and addressing barriers to participation.
  • The Psychotherapist/EarlyON Manager will promote positive racial identity, holistic development, and a sense of belonging for Black children in our Black Joy programme.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy or a related field.
  • Registration: Current member in good standing with the CRPO.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
