
Project Coordinator (volunteer)
The Project Coordinator (volunteer) is a member of the Operational Team and reports to the Program Lead - Ancillary Events and the President. They support the planning and execution of ancillary events by managing day-to-day tasks, tracking progress and ensuring that deadlines are met. They work closely with the Program Lead, volunteers and partners to keep projects on track, coordinate logistics and help deliver successful, impactful events.

Note: This position is intended to support the 2025–2026 season, with the option to renew each year.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Providing support to the programming team in the development and execution of online and in-person events, including speaker, attendee and sponsor recruitment
- Supporting event planning and execution, assisting with logistics, scheduling and coordination to ensure smooth delivery
- Building detailed project plans and coordinating meetings and deliverables, keeping tasks on track and aligned with deadlines
- Tracking project progress and deadlines, providing regular updates to the Program Lead and other stakeholders
- Coordinating with volunteers and partners, helping to onboard, guide and manage contributions before and during events
- Preparing materials and content, including presentations, engagement packages and branded assets, and assisting with monitoring and reporting on outcomes
- A strong commitment to deadlines in a fast-paced online environment
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude
Desired Skills
- A genuine interest in the United Nations mission and SDGs
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (in progress or completed).
- Previous experience in event planning, project management and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable
- Time management skills—prioritizing, scheduling, adapting—and a commitment to deadlines
- Strong networking and partnership skills to engage universities, community groups, and other stakeholders
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication to create engaging content and represent the organization effectively
- Ability to define KPIs, track outcomes, analyze feedback, and recommend improvements for long-term impact
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Trello and Slack
