Overview
Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator, the Project Administration Officer will develop meaningful initiatives related to volunteer engagement. The incumbent will provide administrative and project support to cultivate thoughtful learning and engagement experiences for the organization’s 280+ volunteers who lead education, advocacy, and support programs in their communities across Canada. The Project Administration Officer will assist with the planning, coordination and preparation of online educational trainings and other opportunities for volunteer connection. The incumbent will be provided opportunities to engage in mentorship activities with Senior staff members in other departments of interest.
Anticipated start date: June 22, 2026
Duration of contract: 8 weeks, full-time
Hourly wage: $20
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Together with the Volunteer Engagement team, identify other opportunities and priorities related to volunteer engagement in alignment with Operational Plan
- Assist with the planning and preparation of online educational programs, such as training videos and webinars, including set up and management of hosting platforms
- Liaise with volunteers and other stakeholders to gather feedback on learning modules
- Compile data and assist with the creation of reports
- Mobilize to support and lead additional volunteer engagement initiatives, as needs arise
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the team, volunteers, and stakeholders
- Coordinate effectively with team members to meet deadlines
- Assists Volunteer Coordinator with volunteer support, including inventory and compiling resource shipments to Chapters as needed
Qualifications
- Passion for supporting the end-of-life rights of people across Canada
- Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility
- Current University or College student or recent graduate / meeting the eligibility requirements to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- Comfortable with the topic of death, end-of-life conversations, and supporting a community of volunteers focused on these topics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational/follow up skills
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks appropriately and effectively
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an open team environment
- Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience leading training courses or familiarity with adult education principles is an asset
- Experience with Zoom or other web-based meeting platforms is an asset
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM databases is an asset
