Job Title: Program Coordinator (Supervisor), Employment Services

Department: Employment Services

Locations: Oakville/Mississauga/Virtual

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Full-time (35 hours/week)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:30pm)

Reports To: Senior Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator, Employment Services plays a key role in leading a team of Employment Services (ES) staff across Centre for Skills’ Halton sites. This role supports the delivery of high-quality employment programming, ensuring that staff have the tools, guidance, and motivation to help clients achieve successful employment outcomes. Working collaboratively with internal teams and community partners, the Program Coordinator will foster integration across services and uphold a client-centred, results-driven approach aligned with the Centre’s mission, vision, and values.

These are your responsibilities:

Supervision/Leadership:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of frontline Employment Services staff across two sites (Oakville / Mississauga).
  • Oversee staff scheduling and ensure consistent coverage and service excellence.
  • Conduct first-level investigations and resolve client or staff-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Recruit, train, and conduct performance reviews for staff, supporting continuous learning and growth.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to Centre for Skills’ core values.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to communicate updates, share best practices and problem-solve operational challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Program Coordinator and other Coordinators to ensure alignment across program areas and adherence to funder and organizational standards.

Administration:

  • Monitor program delivery to ensure compliance with Employment Ontario and Service System Manager (SSM) guidelines and achievement of all contractual targets.
  • Conduct regular file audits, observations, and coaching sessions to maintain quality and accountability
  • Support the development and execution of annual business and strategic plans, identifying areas for service integration and improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure wrap-around client support through coordinated service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential staff and client records, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
  • Oversee ordering of program supplies and resources and assist with budget monitoring and planning.
  • Participate in regional committees, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives to strengthen program visibility and outcomes.

What you need to bring to this job:

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Career Development, Business, Social Services).
  • Career Practitioner training is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in employment services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience working within a not-for-profit or government-funded organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with Employment Ontario guidelines and Service System Manager (SSM) processes an asset.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving outcomes within a performance-based service delivery model.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with staff, clients, and partners.
  • Broad knowledge of employment and labour market trends, community resources, and best practices in employment support.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and database systems; experience with CaMS is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze data and reports to inform program improvements and strategic decision-making.
  • Results-oriented, adaptable, and committed to excellence in client service.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and/or willingness to travel throughout Halton and Peel regions.
