Elizabeth Fry Toronto delivers gender-based, trauma-informed services and advocates for justice and equity for criminalized women, Trans, non-binary, and Two Spirit people, as well as their families. We envision communities where women and gender-diverse people are not criminalized. We support the empowerment and well-being of criminalized individuals through responsive, client-centered programs that address the complex and systemic barriers they face. Our services are rooted in trauma-informed and harm reduction practices, assisting people at various stages of involvement in the criminal justice system.
We are currently seeking a Program Manager – Community Supports to oversee a portfolio of community-based programs at Elizabeth Fry Toronto. This leadership role involves supervising staff and volunteers, supporting service users through a trauma-informed lens, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs in line with organizational priorities. We are currently seeking a Program Manager – Community Supports to oversee a portfolio of community-based programs at Elizabeth Fry Toronto. This leadership role involves supervising staff and volunteers, supporting service users through a trauma-informed lens, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs in line with organizational priorities. Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Provide oversight for the agency’s community support programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and organizational standards.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and support program staff and volunteers in a unionized environment, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Service Delivery: Ensure services are trauma-informed, culturally safe, and accessible to clients with complex needs, including those impacted by criminalization, poverty, homelessness, mental health, and substance use.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, government bodies, and stakeholders including funders and crown offices.
- Quality Improvement: Foster a client-centered, evidence-based approach to service delivery, including support in crisis de-escalation and conflict management.
- Administration: Assist with reporting, data tracking, and budget oversight in collaboration with senior management.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Housing, Community Services, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience supporting marginalized individuals, including criminalized women and gender-diverse individuals.
- Supervision: Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience (preferably in unionized settings).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on women and non-binary people.
- Commitment: Trauma-informed, feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression, and harm reduction practices.
- Understanding: Knowledge of intersectionality and criminalization.
- Skills: Case consultation, staff mentorship, and program development.
- Technical: Proficiency in budgeting, data tracking, client information systems, and Microsoft 365.
- Communication: Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
- Availability: Flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.
- Languages: Bilingual in French or other languages is an asset.
- Travel: Ability to travel between offices and community locations.
- Clearances: Successful police background check is a condition of employment.
- Primary work location is on-site, in person with limited flexibility for remote work.
- After-hours response as part of a rotating schedule.
- Some travel to community partner locations may be required.
