What if your next role shaped how a whole community experiences care and dignity?

At Bow Valley Palliative (BVP), we believe dignity, comfort, and excellence aren’t just words - they’re the way we serve our community. As our new Program Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind programs that support clients, families, volunteers, and partners through some of life’s most meaningful moments.

This is about leading with empathy, building a culture where volunteers feel valued, and making sure our programs truly meet the needs of the Bow Valley and beyond.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and deliver programs that align with our mission and respond to real community needs.
  • Recruit, train, and inspire volunteers, making their experience seamless and rewarding.
  • Build relationships with partners locally and nationally - you’ll be the face of BVP in the community.
  • Track impact, manage budgets, and bring forward smart, data-driven recommendations.
  • Share knowledge through workshops and presentations on palliative care, grief, and caregiver support.

What You Bring
On paper, you’ve got:

  • Experience in program design, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Leadership skills to support staff, contract roles, and volunteer teams.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (OHS or similar).
  • Strong budgeting and reporting skills.

In practice, you:

  • Lead with dignity, ensuring everyone feels seen and respected.
  • Communicate with compassion — especially when the conversations are tough.
  • Create comfort by building safe, inclusive spaces.
  • Strive for excellence, holding yourself and your programs to high standards while staying open to feedback.

What We’ll Want to Hear in the Interview

  • How you’ve balanced compassion with accountability in a leadership role.
  • A time when you turned feedback (from staff, volunteers, or clients) into lasting improvements.
  • How you build trust and connection with volunteers and partners.
  • What “excellence” looks like to you when resources are tight but the mission matters most.

Perks & Practical Stuff

  • Competitive salary: $75,000 to $90,000 in base
  • Benefits package
  • RRSP Spend
  • The chance to live and work in one of the most beautiful communities in Canada
  • Hybrid flexibility, with an in-office presence in Canmore
