PROGRAM MANAGER

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Program Manager to join our team.

As the Program Manager, you will provide guidance, solve problems, and ensure the well-being of both staff and participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support: Lead and support group homes from Monday - Friday.
  • Staff Support: Assist staff members in carrying out care plans, resolving issues, and making sure participants are safe and well cared for.
  • Problem-Solving: Respond to any emergencies or incidents during your shifts, providing effective solutions and support to staff.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 7.5 hours per day

Reporting to: Program Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience:

  • Post-Secondary degree in related field, a minimum of one-year supervisory experience & two years direct experience supporting people with disabilities.

OR

  • A suitable combination or education and experience may be considered.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Experience and/or knowledge of issues affecting people with disabilities
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Experience supervising and providing feedback to staff
  • Demonstrated team building & leadership skills
  • Financial management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with change & responsibility
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours
  • Intermediate level (at a minimum) computer skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, Canadare & funding structures
  • Commitment to the values & philosophy of NSDRC
DIRECT SERVICE, SUPERVISION, & SUPPORT

Responsibility
  • Ensure contracted service hours are delivered and monitored.
  • Ensure adequate staffing within budgeted hours.
  • Ensure regular communication with the Director on all issues.
  • Hire employees and train new employees in conjunction with HR and co-managers.
  • Listen and respond to participants’ and their support networks’ wishes.
  • Supervise employees, volunteers, grant workers and practicum students within assigned program including regular performance monitoring.
  • Conduct regular field visits, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Ensure employees complete shift notes for participants.
  • Participate in meetings for both employees and participants.
  • Participate on internal networks, committees and working groups as requested.
  • Attend meetings, such as, the Program Management Team or others, as requested.
  • Promote public awareness of/& support for programs by attending community events, etc.
Pay: $31.00-$34.00 per hour based on experience

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
