
Program Lead - Ancillary Events (volunteer)
The Program Lead - Ancillary Events (volunteer) is a member of the Operational Team and reports to the President. They will take the lead in planning and running engaging events that support UNACTO’s mission. They will work with volunteers, coordinate with partners like universities and community groups, and create content that makes an impact. They will also track outcomes, celebrate successes and explore opportunities for future collaborations—all while keeping events running smoothly and strategically.

Note: This position is intended to support the 2025–2026 season, with the option to renew each year.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Plan and execute ancillary events in alignment with UNACTO’s mission, including operational guidelines, resource allocation, and project schedules
- Design engaging content and experiences, including SDG-focused presentations, engagement packages, and branded materials to amplify event impact
- Build and maintain partnerships with universities, community groups, and aligned organizations to expand reach and foster collaboration
- Lead volunteers and project coordinators, providing guidance, onboarding, and regular updates to ensure smooth execution and skill development
- Monitor and evaluate program success, defining KPIs, tracking outcomes, analyzing feedback, and identifying opportunities for long-term collaboration
Desired Skills
- A genuine interest in the United Nations mission and SDGs
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field, i.e., Business (in progress or completed)
- Previous experience in event planning, project management and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills
- Time management skills—prioritizing, scheduling, adapting—and a commitment to deadlines
- Strong networking and partnership skills to engage universities, community groups, and other stakeholders
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication to create engaging content and represent the organization effectively
- Ability to define KPIs, track outcomes, analyze feedback, and recommend improvements for long-term impact
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Trello and Slack
