
Program Coordinator – Veterinary Peer Support Program Expansion - 1 year term
Location: Remote (Canada)

Help Build the Future of Veterinary Peer Support in Canada
The CVMA is expanding its veterinary peer support program and supports across Canada, and is seeking a Program Coordinator to help lead the next phase of growth.
This role will support the expansion of an existing digital peer support program, help launch a national peer-to-peer virtual support program, and contribute to the growth of an existing veterinary-informed counselling and coaching service. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a made-in-Canada approach to veterinary well-being by supporting peer-support initiatives designed specifically for veterinary professionals. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, comfortable working independently, and excited to help build programs that improve mental health support across the veterinary profession.
Key Responsibilities
Program Administration & Coordination
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and orientation activities for veterinary peer supporters
- Coordinate peer supporter training schedules and related logistics
- Coordinate peer-supporter matching processes
- Monitor scheduling, delivery, and follow-up activities for peer-to-peer support meetings
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration of the national virtual peer support program
- Maintain communications with participants, peer supporters, therapists, coaches, and external partners
Data Collection, Metrics & Evaluation Support
- Maintain organized records, documentation, and program tracking systems.
- Coordinate and monitor completion of pre-and post-meeting surveys for veterinarians and peer supporters participating in one-on-one meetings
Communications & Outreach Support
- Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to support coordinated promotion
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Experience in program coordination, planning, management, and administration
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Comfort working independently within a remote and flexible environment
- Experience with goal-setting, spreadsheets, data tracking, metrics collection, and basic reporting
- Interest in mental health, peer support, psychological safety, and veterinary wellbeing
- Bilingualism in English and French, as well as knowledge of the veterinary profession, are considered strong assets for this position.
