Summary
The purpose of the STEMing UP Program Committee is to govern and support the members of the STEMing UP program, ensuring its smooth operation and continued impact in empowering underserved youth in STEM.

About STEMing UP Program:
STEMing UP is a flagship program designed by hEr VOLUTION to inspire and empower BIPOC girls and gender non-conforming youth to pursue careers in STEM. Based in Ontario, Canada, this program connects youth, particularly those from underserved communities, with industry leaders to develop critical 21st-century skills through mentorship, hands-on learning, and professional development.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between the STEM industry and underserved youth by creating accessible pathways to opportunity, confidence, and career growth.

We are inviting passionate individuals to join the STEMing UP Committee in the following three (3) roles:

1. Outreach Liaison (2 Positions Available)

Role Overview: The Outreach Liaison plays a key role in growing and strengthening the STEMing UP community. This role focuses on recruitment, partnerships, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and youth participants.
  • Lead and coordinate outreach campaigns to promote STEMing UP initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for participants and external partners, ensuring consistent communication.
  • Develop creative strategies to engage the community and raise awareness about the program’s mission.
  • Support recruitment efforts to ensure strong program enrolment.

2. Fundraising Liaison (2 Positions Available)

Role Overview: The Fundraising Liaison supports the sustainability and growth of STEMing UP by developing and maintaining fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and connect with potential sponsors, partners, and donors.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the program’s goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to organize fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Maintain professional communication with stakeholders and ensure recognition of contributions.
  • Track outreach efforts and support reporting needs.

3. Administrative/Project Manager Coordinator (2 Positions Available)

Role Overview: The Administrative Coordinator supports the committee by handling essential operational tasks that keep the program running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage small but important operational tasks (e.g., contacting committee members, sending follow-ups, confirming logistics).
  • Maintain organized documentation and update shared files, including program materials and databases.
  • Support scheduling, meeting coordination, and internal communications.
  • Help track deadlines and ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and coordinating communications.

This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking initiative on behind-the-scenes tasks.

What We Expect:

  • Minimum one (1) year commitment.
  • Up to one (1) hour per meeting, plus additional time for assigned tasks each week/month.
  • Availability for occasional unscheduled meetings if necessary, as determined by the Committee Chair.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Canva is required.

About You:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft professional communications effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Important Dates:

  • Application Deadline: March 5th, 2026.
  • Interview Period: March 9th-13th, 2026.
