Location: Remote, Resident of Toronto or GTA

Position Type: Contract, Part-Time 20 hours per week

Anticipated Start Date: June 1, 2026

About Us:

Community Cats Toronto is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of community cats through education, advocacy, and responsible management. We strive to foster a compassionate community that understands the importance of humane treatment and care for cats. As a founding member of the Toronto Feral Cat Coalition, we promote the humane practice of Trap-Neuter-Return to control the population of free-roaming cats in the GTA and surrounding areas and improve the quality of the cats’ lives.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Program Administrator to support our organization in fulfilling its mission. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in program management, fundraising, community engagement, training, and advocacy. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate volunteers, manage projects, as well as collaborate effectively with community partners with a goal to promote the welfare of community cats.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Management:

  • Coordinate and lead existing volunteer base to maximize skills and interests already on our team
  • Analyze gaps in our volunteer base, develop a marketing plan and create materials to recruit new volunteers
  • Devise an onboarding plan and develop materials to train and retain new volunteers aligned with our mission to help community cats
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment to retain talented and energized volunteer pool

Fundraising

  • Devise and execute the growth and development of a fundraising program
  • Initiate and lead new and creative campaigns
  • Stewardship of existing monthly and annual donors, and donor appreciation
  • Outreach to prospective donors
  • Meet and exceed fundraising goals

Program Development:

  • Lead efforts to update and enhance existing courses for community cat management, ensuring they reflect best practices and current research
  • Compile and analyze resources to support educational content and community outreach efforts
  • Represent the organization at community events, workshops, and meetings to raise awareness and support for our mission
  • Manage various projects and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of community cats
  • Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to promote cat welfare and responsible pet ownership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in non-profit management, animal welfare, public relations, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit management, community engagement, or a related area
  • Strong understanding of cat welfare issues and community cat management practices
  • Proven experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Google Workspaces (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Meet), CanadaHelps, donor management systems, Canva, eWebinar, Thinkific, Zoom, and experience with project management tools

Compensation:

$40/hr
