Calgary Meals on Wheels is looking for Production volunteers to support the preparation of nutritious and affordable meals for members of our community.
Working alongside our Production team, Production volunteers play an essential role in preparing and portioning meals that support food security, independence, and well-being for thousands of Calgarians. Every task, from preparing ingredients to assembling meals, helps ensure our clients receive the nutritious food they depend on.
Each day, our kitchen prepares more than 5,000 meals, and Production volunteers support our culinary team in ensuring those meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and with care.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY (Weekdays)
Production volunteers assist with the preparation and assembly of meals in our commercial kitchen. Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing and portioning ingredients
- Assisting with cooking and meal preparation
- Following recipes and kitchen procedures
- Using kitchen equipment and tools safely
- Following all food safety policies and practices
Flexible scheduling: Volunteer on the weekday(s) and during the hours that work best for you between 6:00am and 2:00pm. Whether you prefer a full shift or just a few hours, we ask that you commit to a regular schedule so our team can plan accordingly.
Food Safety Certification and commercial kitchen experience are considered assets but are not required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments (0°C to 25°C)
- Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting up to 25lbs
Completion of a screening phone call, interview, Police Information Check, references, orientation, and training
