Role Purpose The Product Manager will guide the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Climate Stories Map (https://climatestories.palce, https://crc.place/climate-stories-map/) —an interactive platform that collects and visualizes real stories from communities affected by climate change around the world. This role is critical for ensuring the platform meets the needs of users and story contributors while maintaining alignment with our mission to amplify underrepresented voices and transform lived experiences into actionable climate insights. You will serve as the bridge between community needs, user experience, and technical execution, ensuring we build a platform that creates meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities

Lead product strategy and execution for the Climate Stories Map platform:
• Product Roadmap: Define and maintain the product roadmap, prioritizing features

and improvements aligned with the Climate Stories Map mission and user needs
• Requirements Translation: Translate user and community needs into clear, actionable

requirements for developers and designers
• Sprint Coordination: Coordinate with technical co-leads and volunteers to plan

sprints, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of features

• User Research: Conduct user research, feedback collection, and usability testing to refine platform usability, engagement, and impact

• Quality & Alignment: Ensure features and workflows align with project goals, accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and long-term platform sustainability

Additional responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain user stories, feature specifications, and acceptance criteria
• Facilitate prioritization discussions and manage competing stakeholder needs
• Monitor platform analytics and user behavior to inform product decisions
• Identify and address gaps in user experience, platform functionality, and community

engagement
• Champion accessibility and inclusivity throughout the product development lifecycle
• Document product decisions, user insights, and lessons learned for team reference
• Support volunteer onboarding and engagement related to product development

activities Required Qualifications

• Experience in product management or project management for digital platforms
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers,

designers, and volunteers
• Demonstrated ability to define product requirements, prioritize features, and manage

product roadmaps
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and task tracking tools (Jira, Trello, GitHub

Projects, Asana, or similar)
• Proven capacity to translate user needs and feedback into actionable features and

improvements
• Strategic thinking balanced with attention to practical execution details

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Background in climate, environmental projects, or storytelling platforms
• Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, or data-driven

decision-making
• Knowledge of mapping, geospatial, or data visualization tools
• Experience managing volunteer or distributed teams in nonprofit or social impact

contexts
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
• Familiarity with community-based participatory approaches or human-centered

design
• Passion for climate justice, community empowerment, and amplifying marginalized

voices

• Clear, prioritized product roadmap aligned with Climate Stories Map mission and user

needs

• Well-defined feature requirements and user stories that enable efficient development cycles

• Successful sprint coordination with consistent progress toward platform milestones
• User research insights and usability improvements that enhance platform

engagement and accessibility
• Platform features that demonstrate measurable impact on user satisfaction, story

submissions, and community reach
• Documentation of product decisions, user feedback patterns, and strategic rationale
