The President leads the organization in delivering on its mission to empower young adults (ages 18–28) through mentorship, personal growth, and career readiness. Equally important, the President supports volunteers and mentors in identifying their personal “why” to foster a deeper connection to their roles and the broader mission. This includes overseeing all departments, driving execution, and fostering a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and purpose. The President reports directly to the Board and is accountable for strategy implementation and sustainable organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic execution of EF’s mission to empower emerging adults (18–28) through EF Connect mentorship, personal development, and career readiness
  • Oversee EF’s core departments: HR & Administration, Program Development, Technology & Innovation, Marketing & Communications, Legal & Compliance, and Finance
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment with EF’s 2025 strategic roadmap and organizational priorities
  • Build and lead a high-performing, values-driven volunteer leadership team rooted in collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and funding opportunities to support EF’s sustainability and long-term growth
  • Collaborate with the Board Chair and Strategic Advisor to the Chair to ensure strong governance, mission alignment, and strategic continuity
  • Work closely with the Strategic Advisor to the Chair to ensure operational decisions and organizational execution remain aligned with EF’s mission, strategic roadmap, and governance priorities
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, impact, and innovation across all EF programs and operations
  • Model and encourage purpose-driven engagement among all volunteers and mentors to reinforce meaning and commitment in a remote, volunteer-led structure

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in executive leadership, nonprofit operations, or organizational strategy, ideally in youth-focused or volunteer-driven environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field required. Master’s degree or equivalent experience in leadership, youth development, or organizational strategy is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills across diverse teams and communities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple initiatives
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team setting
  • Experience with program development, performance evaluation, and impact measurement in mission-driven organizations
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Airtable, or other collaboration and project management tools
  • Passionate about youth empowerment, mentorship, and building sustainable, purpose-driven programs
  • Experience in fund development, partnership cultivation, or community engagement is an asset
  • Knowledge of nonprofit governance, risk management, or compliance is a plus

This is a part-time and unpaid volunteer position (approx. 3-5 hours per week). Please note that during the initial 1–2 months of onboarding and transition, the role may require up to 7-10 hours per week as foundational systems and relationships are established.

Monthly meetings include: Board Meeting (1x/month), Leadership Sync (1x/month), plus additional cross-functional check-ins as needed.
