Position Summary:
The Merchandise Coordinator will play a crucial role in promoting R&E Ocean Community Conservation’s mission by managing and optimizing our merchandise offerings. This includes researching, setting up, and maintaining our merchandise on various e-commerce platforms, ensuring that products align with our brand and environmental goals. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for environmental conservation, and experience in e-commerce and merchandising.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Research and Selection:
- Research eco-friendly and sustainable merchandise options that align with the foundation’s values.
- Select products that appeal to our target audience and reflect the organization's mission.
2. E-Commerce Setup and Management:
- Set up merchandise on e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Etsy, or other relevant sites.
- Create and manage product listings, ensuring they are accurate, engaging, and optimized for search engines.
- Maintain inventory records and coordinate with suppliers to manage stock levels.
3. Website Integration and Maintenance:
- Integrate merchandise into the foundation’s website, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers.
- Regularly update the website with new products, promotions, and seasonal items.
4. Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote merchandise through social media, email campaigns, and other channels.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create compelling content that highlights the merchandise and its connection to our conservation efforts.
5. Customer Service and Order Fulfillment:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
6. Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on merchandise sales and marketing effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or a related field.
- Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly products.
- Proficiency in using e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Etsy) and website management tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for environmental conservation and commitment to the mission of R&E Ocean Community Conservation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with digital marketing and SEO.
- Graphic design skills for creating product images and promotional materials.
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain logistics.
