POLICY DEVELOPER / GOVERNANCE ANALYST – VOLUNTEER

About Us hEr VOLUTION is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for young women and non-binary youth in STEM fields. We work with industry leaders, educational institutions, and community partners to break barriers and foster inclusivity in STEM careers.

Work Week Duration This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity requiring 5 to 9 hours per week. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate volunteers' commitments.

JOB DUTIES

As a Governance Analyst, you will support the organization’s mission by managing human resources functions tailored to a volunteer-driven, impact-focused environment.

Responsibilities include:

Policy Development, Compliance, and Administration:

1. Assist in creating and maintaining organizational policies that reflect the unique needs of a non-profit, volunteer-led organization.
2. Verify compliance with non-profit regulations and best practices.
3. Review and provide feedback on policies to ensure they reflect practical and real-world application.

Risk Management:

1. Contribute to identifying organizational risks, provide guidance on risk mitigation approaches, and share insights on compliance or ethical standards relevant to nonprofits.
2. Contribute to building foundational governance tools such as developing risk registers and matrices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. This role is fully remote, allowing flexibility for volunteers and interns.
2. Regular online meetings and digital collaboration tools will be used to engage with the team.
