About Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPO)

EAPO is a registered provincial charity recognized for its leadership in elder abuse prevention — advocating for and protecting the human rights of older persons, which are violated with every incident of abuse.

Since 2002, EAPO has focused on addressing the rise of ageism — the root cause of elder abuse — while implementing the Ontario Strategy to Combat Elder Abuse, the first of its kind in Canada.

Through community coordination, training for service professionals, and public education and awareness initiatives, EAPO strengthens the capacity of individuals, senior-serving agencies, and system partners to recognize, respond to, and support older adults at risk of or experiencing abuse.

We envision an Ontario where all seniors live free from ageism and abuse, and where their human rights are advanced, protected, and respected.

About the Podcast

Aging Vibrantly: Conversations to Empower Seniors is an original podcast hosted by Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario.

Now in its 2nd Season, the podcast features conversations with senior leaders, advocates, and experts in the field of aging — representing diverse populations and perspectives. These discussions promote age-inclusivity, amplify lived experiences, and through shared wisdom, address key issues affecting the fastest-growing demographic in Canada. Our mission is to empower listeners through knowledge, conversation, and community — helping to reduce ageism and prevent elder abuse.
