THE OPPORTUNITY

This isn't just a job. The Philanthropy Officer, Major Gifts is a key member of our growing development team, and you will play a vital role in fueling Scott Mission’s transformative work. You will lead the strategy and relationship-building for a portfolio of up to 150 donors, helping secure major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
You’ll collaborate across departments—Philanthropy, Marketing, Ministry, and Operations—to create powerful donor experiences that align with their passions and our mission. You’ll help shape a culture of generosity, deepen donor relationships to ensure every donor feels valued, and drive lasting impact across Toronto.

WHO YOU ARE:
- Proven Fundraising Acumen: Experience in major gift fundraising, with a solid understanding of mass, mid-level, and legacy giving.
- Exceptional Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and monitor progress against clear metrics.
- Ethical & Compliant: Deep knowledge of fundraising regulations and ethical standards (AFP guidelines, Donor Bill of Rights, CRA, and CCCC guidelines).
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser's Edge, Engaging Networks) and strong O365 skills.
- Experienced Professional: A university degree and 4+ years of experience with a focus on major gifts preferred. CFRE designation secured or being worked towards.
- Faith-Driven: A clear commitment to live out your Christian faith and agreement with the Statement of Faith of Scott Mission.

BEFORE YOU APPLY
Compensation and Benefits
- The compensation range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000.
- RRSP 6.5% match defined contribution plan
- 4 weeks Vacation
Workplace Environment
Onsite at multiple locations, primarily Scott Mission HUB Distribution Centre at 5 McLachlan Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1E5.
