Philanthropy Officer, Breast Cancer Canada
Philanthropy Officer
Location: GTHA & Surrounding Areas, Ontario
Remote Opportunity
For over 30 years, Canada has known them as the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. But just as the research they fund is always evolving, the organization you know has also evolved to become Breast Cancer Canada. What hasn’t changed is their laser-focused commitment to advancing innovative breast cancer research – especially research geared towards precision oncology.
Breast Cancer Canada (BCC) is poised to grow into a national organization with immense impact. The vision of ending breast cancer is one shared by many, especially those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. The organization realizes that it cannot achieve the dream alone. It needs the generous support of time, talent, and treasure from many to bring the shared vision to life. BCC gets closer to making this vision a reality through each partnership, including: breast cancer researchers, patients and families, community members, organizations, volunteers across Canada, Board members, and staff. It is through them and in them that BCC finds its voice, passion, energy, and momentum.
Reporting to the VP, Philanthropy, you will contribute to the collective revenue goals of the Philanthropy team, by inspiring major gifts in support of the Breast Cancer Canada (BCC) mission. You will leverage an existing donor database while researching new prospects and developing a growth strategy to establish a donor pipeline to achieve 125 -150 prospects, supporting the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors who have capacity to support BCC with annual and multi-year gifts. While most existing prospects and donors are in the range of $5,000 - $25,000, the goal and opportunity is to secure larger donations as well.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing national organization with room for advancement in a dynamic and expanding team. As a key contributor to Breast Cancer Canada's (BCC) mission, you will play a crucial role in building our major gifts portfolio and shaping the future of philanthropy. You will drive revenue growth by inspiring major gifts, leveraging our existing donor base while researching and developing new prospects. Your focus will be on establishing a robust donor pipeline of 100+ prospects and securing both annual and multi-year major gifts.
