Full-time employees can join our group pension plan after two consecutive years of employment. Employees contribute 5% of their gross earnings per pay, which is matched by the Y. After three consecutive years of full-time service, participation in the YMCA pension plan becomes mandatory.

Join a growing and vibrant Philanthropy team.

At the YMCA of Three Rivers we believe philanthropy is best measured by the impact of our work. It’s a different way of looking at things, and it’s our privilege to share this impact with prospective supporters.

We will not accept that loneliness, intolerance and inequality, poor mental health, or chronic diseases are facts of life. And where they are, we will aim to make that change. As the heartbeat of the communities we serve, we will break down systemic barriers to potential and belonging and ensure our region is a place where everyone can create their own Y story!

At the YMCA of Three Rivers, we’re all about igniting the potential to shine.

Have you made your decision? Are you ready to make an impact with us?

  • We’re on a bold mission as a charity, and we’re looking for someone who’s made the decision to make a positive difference.
  • We need someone who is equally good at the details and taking in the big picture. Someone who sees beyond the horizon, and breaks down the steps to get us there.
  • We’re a small team, so we’re excited to find a colleague who will show up, work hard and be kind.

So, what will you do?

You’ll help us drive the charitable mandate and mission of the YMCA of Three Rivers. You’ll play an instrumental role in making us the charity of choice for donors – and help secure the funds we need to make an impact in our community. This includes prospecting, discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for major and planned gifts, as well as the strategy for annual giving, with the goal of increasing the number of donors and the overall revenue. You’ll help craft our message and share our story, building solid relationships on behalf of the YMCA of Three Rivers.

You’re also going to lead a team of driven fundraising professionals who share the same mission, coaching them through challenges and empowering them to exceed targets. You’ll pitch in when they need a hand, and celebrate successes together.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Ideally, you’ve completed your post-secondary studies and have 7-10 years of progressive experience in the not-for-profit or sales sector .
  • You’re a strong communicator, a critical thinker, and a team player.
  • You’ve got some familiarity with CRM systems, know your way around a proposal and can make a solid face-to-face ask.
  • You’re passionate about making a difference, hitting targets and you prioritize building meaningful relationships with those around you.
  • You’re a skilled people-leader with 1-3 years of experience leading a team, including coaching, developing talent, performance management and budget oversight.

This work is dynamic, so you will need to be flexible and adept at managing emerging opportunities. You should have strong time management and self-starting abilities, and a willingness to pitch in.

The work of fundraising benefits from in-person engagement, so you would be expected to travel to on-site locations regularly. The YMCA of Three Rivers spans several regions for public transit, so you must be able to manage your own transportation. Your working hours will be a full 37.5 hours weekly, with flexibility Monday to Friday to adjust your start/ end times on days where you will be providing occasional evenings, weekends and on-call requirements to meet objectives.

What’s next?

Apply with your resume, and a cover letter telling us what difference you’re ready to make with us at the YMCA of Three Rivers. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
