Personal Support Worker (PSW) Student Placement

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:00pm

Reports to: Living Well Manager & Day Program Team Leads
Start Date: Monday September 07, 2026
Position Summary
The PSW student will assist in providing support to seniors in a community-based Adult Day Program. Duties include helping with program activities, offering personal care assistance, monitoring clients’ well-being, and supporting the safe and inclusive delivery of programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients during mealtimes, including light preparation, serving lunch, and monitoring for safety
- Provide personal care support, including toileting
- Assist with safe transferring and positioning of clients
- Escort and support clients using mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, or canes
- Help with the implementation of daily programs, including games, recreational activities, crafts, and chair exercises
Skills & Qualifications
- To be eligible for a student placement, you must be enrolled in an approved Personal Support Worker (PSW) program and be in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to exercise good professional judgment
Supervision & Evaluation
- Please note, supervision is not conducted by a Registered Nurse (RN).

- Must be 18 years or older.
