CUPE Education Worker’s Benefits Trust (CUPE EWBT)

ABOUT US:

The CUPE EWBT provides life, AD&D, health and dental benefits to over 50,000 eligible CUPE members who work in the Ontario education sector. The CUPE EWBT was established through a Trust Agreement and the benefits became effective on March 1, 2018. The Board of Trustees is seeking a part time administrative co-ordinator to provide support to the Managing Director and Trust.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Working closely and reporting to the Managing Director, the administrator will provide support in the day-to-day operations of the Trust, which includes:

  • Consolidate and package information to deliver to the Trustees in advance of each Committee and Board of Trustees’ meeting.
  • Coordination of Committee, Board and Stakeholder meetings including attending all meetings, recording minutes and assisting the Managing Director with action items.
  • Draft formal reports (including the Annual Meeting with the Parties and OSBCU Presentation to Local Leaders) including researching data, coordinating and editing material submitted by others.
  • Distribution of quarterly reports to Stakeholders.
  • Assist Managing Director with all administrative functions including, but not limited to, filing, documenting, photocopying, scanning and printing all necessary documents.
  • Review, organize and update trustee portal.
  • Review trustee/employee expenses for payment and send to Managing Director and/or Board Chair for approval.
  • Review and process invoices for payment through the administrator.
  • Assist in planning and delivering annual and quarterly member updates in both English and French, ensuring brand consistency and accessibility standards.
  • Set up and ongoing maintenance of social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Maintain and update the website, ensuring documents and information remain current, functional and user-friendly.
  • Monitor and report on website analytics and email engagement, make recommendations for optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills (English required, French an asset).
  • Knowledge of group benefits or similar member services is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively and confidently with the Managing Director, Board of Trustees, and service providers.
  • Professionalism, strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Office is located in Uxbridge, Ontario.

Board meetings are conducted in Markham, Ontario.

Remote work options are available.

Hours of Work:

Flexible – 20 hours per week

Rate of Pay:

$35.00 per hour
