The Partnerships Officer (volunteer) is a member of the Operational Team and reports to the President. The primary role of the Partnerships Officer is to support the execution of UNACTO’s programming and strategic plan and the achievement of UNACTO’s seasonal objectives. The scope of work detailed below is not exhaustive and will be co-created as we further develop this role.

Note: This position is intended to support the 2025–2026 season, with the option to renew each year.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Providing support to the President and Development Committee to achieve their annual goals
  • Supporting the development and execution of UNACTO’s partnership strategy, focused on outreach and building community
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners, donors, sponsors, and key stakeholders
  • Identifying, negotiating and securing new partnership opportunities that align with organizational goals
  • Supporting the design and delivery of partnership initiatives, ensuring objectives and deliverables are met
  • Preparing proposals, presentations and reports to communicate the value and impact of partnerships
  • Monitoring and evaluating partnership performance, and ensuring compliance with agreements and alignment with strategy

Desired Skills

  • A genuine interest in the United Nations mission and SDGs
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field, i.e., Business, Philanthropy (in progress or completed)
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills are required for this role to effectively lead projects and present project proposals to the programming team
  • Ability to build trust and maintain strong connections with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to pitch ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to identify opportunities, align partnerships with organizational goals, and understand the broader context
  • Skilled at reaching mutually beneficial agreements and navigating complex discussions
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple partnerships, track deliverables, and report outcomes effectively
  • Experience using Google Workspace, Trello, Slack and Zoom
