About the Role

The Food Procurement Coordinator will:

  • Engage and steward existing food donor relationships to encourage sustained and increased food donations.

  • Identify and cultivate new food donor partnerships, including with grocery fulfillment centers, food manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and local farms.

  • Proactively source fresh, nutritious, and culturally specific food items that reflect the needs and diversity of the communities we serve.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align food sourcing with operational capacity and community needs.

  • Track and report on donor interactions and food sourcing progress, highlighting impact and opportunities for deeper engagement.

  • Serve as a representative of Food for Life to the food industry, showcasing the benefits of collaboration and food rescue.

About You

You are someone who:

  • Has experience in relationship building, sales, food procurement, or community engagement—especially in the food, agriculture, or grocery sector.

  • Is passionate about reducing food waste and increasing access to nutritious food.

  • Understands food security, local food systems, and the value of culturally inclusive food sourcing.

  • Is an excellent communicator—both in person and in writing.

  • Can work independently and as part of a mission-driven team.

  • Has strong organizational and tracking skills, with attention to detail.

  • Access to a vehicle required.

  • Multilingualism and/or experience working in diverse communities is a strong asset.
