
Outreach Volunteer- Remote
Common Compass is an Ontario-based registered charity. We are on a mission to empower youth, their schools and communities by strengthening social-emotional well-being and mental health through evidence-informed programs and fostering systemic change.We envision a future where every young person reaches their own potential to transform their schools and communities into places that promote belonging, inclusion, and positive mental health for all. Over the last 10 years we have worked across 12 school boards and with more than 12,000 students, parents and educators.

Role: Outreach Coordinator-Remote
The Outreach Coordinator (OC) supports the Administrative and Project Coordinator and Executive Director (ED) meet partnership objectives. The Outreach Coordinators will perform community outreach responsibilities on behalf of Common Compass. Their job is to maintain relationships with key contacts to coordinate new program information and fundraisers or other community programs. This includes making phone calls to potential school partners, potential donors and other partners and collaborators at Common Compass. Throughout the day, they reach out to members of the community to discuss program details by making phone calls and sending emails.
Ingredients for Success
- Communication skills: Both verbal and in writing to inform and persuade donors, schools and people in the community of the organization’s purpose.
Comfortable with making cold calls and speaking with new people while relaying information in a kind and positive way. - Ability to speak and write in a professional tone.
- Desire to connect with people: As the Outreach Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to communicate with people, whether it be through writing or over the phone. It’s important that you enjoy connecting with others, and thrive in an environment where communication is your primary focus.
- Project management skills: Ability to manage several different projects at once and remain organized across projects.
- Open to learning: There may be tasks that you’re not familiar with, and that’s okay! We are looking for someone who is open to try new things, and grow in this role
Hours/ Location
This volunteer position is entirely remote. The applicant must be able to commit to volunteering.
- 5-10 hours per week (at least 3-month commitment)
Be available for at least 5 hours on weekdays between 9 am and 3 pm
