About Open Door Group
Open Door Group (ODG) is a non-profit organization and registered charity dedicated to building strong communities through inclusive employment. Since 1976, we’ve been supporting individuals in British Columbia find meaningful and sustainable work, because we believe employment opens the door to purpose, prosperity, and belonging. In 2023, we launched our first national program to support employers in recruiting and retaining employees with disabilities. Most recently, we expanded our presence into Alberta to increase access to inclusive employment services for people with disabilities.
Each year, we serve over 8,000 job seekers with a broad range of experiences. Whether someone is ready to join the workforce or facing barriers like poverty, ableism, social exclusion, or limited access to services, we meet them where they are, with respect, personalized support, and a commitment to equity.
We also work closely with the business community, helping employers connect with skilled talent and build more inclusive, accessible workplaces. Through initiatives like CAN WiN (Canadian Partners in Workforce Innovation), we support employers in recruiting and retaining employees with disabilities across the country.
Our approach is guided by three core values: Delivering excellent customer experience, driving measurable impact; and, embedding accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion in all that we do.
With 11 service locations in B.C. and a growing presence in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario, Open Door Group is excited to expand our connections in Alberta. As part of that growth, we are currently seeking Alberta-based leaders to join our Board of Directors and help shape the next chapter of our work.
