I. ABOUT TRUE PATRIOT LOVE

True Patriot Love is Canada’s Foundation for the military community, working to support military members, Veterans, and their families at every stage of their journey. By working as a trusted partner with local charities, social enterprises, the Canadian Armed Forces and the federal and provincial governments, True Patriot Love advocates for the needs of military members and Veterans and ensures resources are directed where they are needed most.

II. POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head, Marketing and Communications, the Officer, Digital Marketing works to develop and manage digital campaigns to boost visibility, attract visitors and encourage engagement or conversions across various online channels. They are responsible for managing our digital content strategy including organizational websites and social media platforms and work with a mix of SEO, digital ads, and content development to connect with the right audiences online. The Officer, Digital Marketing also tracks and reports user data, behaviour patterns and campaign metrics to refine strategies, improve targeting accuracy and ensure our marketing efforts are cost-effective, scalable and results-driven.

The Officer, Digital Marketing is a full-time contract position of one year in duration, with the possibility of renewal, that will work remotely or in a hybrid capacity at the Toronto based office. As a representative of the Foundation, this role may require travel domestically across Canada, once or twice a year.

III. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility #1. Website Management & SEO (40% of time)

  1. Maintain and update the organization’s website, ensuring all content is current, functional, and user-friendly.
  2. Develop and execute editorial calendar for the website to ensure content is updated regularly in line with organizational campaigns.
  3. Implement SEO best practices (on-page and technical) to increase organic traffic and improve search rankings.
  4. Monitor site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall User Experience (UX).

Responsibility #2. Social Media Strategy & Execution (30% of time)

  1. Develop and manage a comprehensive social media calendar across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube).
  2. Foster community engagement by responding to comments and monitoring brand mentions.
  3. Create engaging and impactful content that is in line with the organization’s overall brand, key messaging and designed to drive action.
  4. Stay ahead of platform trends to ensure our content remains relevant and engaging.

Responsibility #3. Digital Advertising (PPC/SEM) (15% of time)

  1. Collaborate with internal teams to design, launch, and optimize paid campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  2. Manage advertising budgets effectively to maximize Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).
  3. Conduct continuous A/B testing on ad creatives, landing pages, and audience targeting.
  4. Work with external vendors to manage Google Grant campaigns.

Responsibility #4. Strategy, Analytics & Reporting (15% of time)

  1. Develop an integrated digital marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  2. Track and analyze KPIs using Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and platform-specific insights.
  3. Provide monthly reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for the leadership team.

IV. EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  1. 3 – 5 years of proven experience in digital marketing, preferably within a not-for-profit or purpose-driven organization.
  2. Experience in software applications for web content management, video production, publishing, and design (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  3. Experience with a variety of social media and digital platforms (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and tools such as Hootsuite and Sprout.
  4. Foundational knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) and basic HTML
  5. Demonstrated strong client/customer service orientation with the ability to understand and respond to various expectations from diverse stakeholders.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing, changing priorities.
  7. Creative problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
  8. Awareness of digital trends including how AI is impacting changes to search and paid advertising.
  9. Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events on occasion, and ability to travel domestically up to two times per year.
  10. Passion or understanding of the Canadian Armed Forces, and fluency in French (verbal and written) are assets.
  11. Domestic travel up to two weeks/ year.
