Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, the Digital Marketing officer is passionate about digital

marketing and associated technologies, with demonstrated experience in all aspects of email creation and deployment as well as digital advertising and search marketing.

The Digital Marketing Officer thrives on a combination of analytical and creative challenges. They love to apply the left brain to optimize digital advertising and email performance, working with technology, analyzing metrics and seeking continual improvement in results. Their right brain lights up with the challenge of creating compelling email and advertising content that touch hearts and minds to elicit an extraordinary response.

The Digital Marketing Officer will contribute to the success of United Way East Ontario’s marketing and fundraising objectives at both strategic and operational levels. With the support of their manager, they will both lead and have ownership over projects and work collaboratively with our talented Marketing and Communications team.

This position is based in Ottawa but serves Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark, and Renfrew Counties. This is a hybrid position with two days per week on-site.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma with a concentration in marketing or equivalent experience Experience:
  • 2+ years in a digital marketing role
  • Experience developing and executing email marketing campaigns
  • Experience developing, implementing and reporting on paid search and social media advertising
  • Experience using Mail Chimp or other email management software
  • Experience using Google Adwords, Adword Planner and Google Analytics other web analytics solutions
  • Writing, editing and proofreading skills would be an asset.
  • Superior research and fact checking skills.
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams in a diverse, cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Experience working with the public and other stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of content management (CMS) and CRM (customer relationship management) systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent) an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Project and program management skills
  • Self-motivated, ability work independently and participate as a team player and take initiative
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining focused and flexible
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies and exploring emerging marketing channels
  • Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset
