Nurdle Hunt Beach Cleanup Volunteer
A Greener Future is seeking enthusiastic and environmentally conscious volunteers to support our Nurdle Hunt events this October on beaches along Lake Ontario, in Burlington, Hamilton, Toronto, and Durham.
This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact on your local environment, contribute to an international citizen science project, and gain volunteer experience alongside a passionate team.
As a Nurdle Hunt volunteer, you will:
- Participate in shoreline cleanups focused on nurdles, tiny plastic pellets, which are a major contribution to plastic pollution.
- Help collect critical data that demonstrates the scale and impact of microplastics locally. This data strengthens advocacy efforts, holds industries accountable for spills, and pushes for stronger procedures, policies, guidelines, and training within the plastic industry to prevent future environmental disasters.
- Learn about the issue of nurdle pollution and its impacts on wildlife, waterways, and communities.
