POSITION: Newsletter Coordinator

LOCATION: Remote

REPORTS TO: Head of Communications

TIME COMMITMENT: 5-10 hours/week

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Rolling basis, until position is filled.

ABOUT US:

The Community Climate Council (CCC) is a committed team of volunteers in Peel Region driven

by the urgency of the climate crisis. Through a combination of climate literacy and political

advocacy, we empower our community to push for bold climate policies and take proactive

steps toward change. Founded with the vision of creating a platform for local voices to demand

action, our work is rooted in community-led solutions. We approach every project with a focus

on collaboration, ensuring that our efforts are both community-centered and solutions-driven.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Newsletter Coordinator to assist in creating content

for the Council’s quarterly newsletter. You will work closely with various teams to highlight

milestones, accomplishments, local climate and environmental news, and upcoming events. The

goal is to inspire readers, engage subscribers, and effectively promote the work of the CCC. The

Newsletter Coordinator will also help develop strategies to attract new leads and grow the

newsletter’s audience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Content Creation & Coordination: ○ Contribute to the newsletter template by gathering content from different

teams.

○ Create a draft layout for management approval, edits, and revisions. ○ Implement revisions and edits in a timely manner, taking constructive design

feedback positively.

○ Insert content into the digital newsletter template.
• List Management & Design:

○ Manage and edit subscription lists and spreadsheets as needed. ○ Design visual elements to enhance the newsletter in Canva, as needed.

• Lead Acquisition & Engagement: ○ Offer new ideas for acquiring and retaining leads.

○ Collaborate with the team to develop strategies to grow the newsletter’s subscriber base.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Skills and Experience: ○ Proven experience with social media platforms and programs.Strong design skills

and attention to detail.

○ Proficiency in using Mailchimp and other design tools, such as Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.

○ Excellent skill in using GSuite (Docs, Gmail, Sheets). ○ Strong communication skills, including writing and storytelling. ○ Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Personal Attributes: ○ Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. ○ Enthusiastic about learning and gaining hands-on experience in program

development and climate action.

○ Passionate about creating positive change and fostering community resilience. ○ Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment.
