New Roots Program Lead

Time commitment: 3–5 hours/week
Team: Environmental Stewardship Program
Overview: Program Leads help design and facilitate hands-on environmental activities that bring together newcomers and local residents. This role includes program planning, coordination, and volunteer leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan activities such as:
  • tree planting
  • community composting
  • pollinator garden building
  • climate education workshops
• Coordinate with community partners and event sites
• Recruit, schedule, and support event volunteers
• Track participation and gather feedback from newcomers
• Promote environmental awareness and integration opportunities

Ideal Qualifications:

• Interest in sustainability, climate action, or environmental education
• Experience facilitating groups (asset but not required)
• Strong organizational skills
