A NEW AND BETTER WAY TO LEARN

… and an upbeat group of rebels that grew out of it

Dear Friend,

It was 1964 in the rolling countryside of England in a peaceful little county called Sussex. A renowned thinker eagerly passed on discoveries made in his original research to a very select audience.

His groundbreaking lectures outlined how to study anything effectively and quickly put it into action in the real world- a new & unique way to master anything. But this wasn’t just speed reading or memory tricks - he found the root cause of inability to study and abandoning a subject.

His discoveries allowed people to become fitter in life. They could use this new method and really achieve success in anything – after a little practice they could run with the best of them! But it wasn’t smooth sailing from then on…

The Plot Thickens

Certain powerful personalities viewed this as a threat.

These discoveries led to smarter people that could think for themselves. Big business, advertising and government wouldn’t be able to control them – that was against the plan: “keep ‘em dumb & inactive; nice and obedient.”

It would cut down their income and affect their bottom line!

They attacked his organization with TV, Radio and Newspapers they owned by labelling it a cult, a scam and smearing it with “stories”.

Despite all of this, his organization grew worldwide and kept on running… to over 11,000 central organizations, chapters and affiliated groups.

His new method “Study Technology” came to be used by 28 million people across 70 nations, with 320 licensed schools and centers in North & Central America. A study of South Africa’s Department of Education showed a passing rate of 91% for students taught using Study Technology vs. only 27% in the control group. (https://www.appliedscholastics.org/)

It was an essential part of a bigger subject that made people more intelligent and fitter; a practical use of wisdom and knowledge- like a run that really got people into shape.

Going against the grain

In 1950, the thinker, a trained engineer from George Washington University, wrote a #1 New York Times best-selling book on the mind, with over 20,000,000 copies sold.

This was the first real popular book on the mind for the common person, no psychology degree needed.

He went on to found Scientology (Latin scio, which means "knowing” and the Greek word logos, meaning "study of") including a half a century of original research and earned the Guinness World Record for most published author of all time at 1084 publications. This was not a belief system but something you do to be feel happier, get more done, learn anything, deal with your fellows better, and much more.

With all the “news” and opinions out there, people often wonder, “Is it what it claims to be?”

If it didn’t work, why would it have grown to 167 Countries?
