Breakthrough T1D is growing our Research & Mental Health team and we’re searching for an experienced professional for the new role of National Manager, Medical Affairs.

If you’re a strategic, collaborative and detail-oriented leader who would like to oversee clinical and medical affairs activities across the country, please read on to see if this is the right fit for you.

Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:

· Contributes to design, adaptation and/or delivery of health care provider (HCP) education, which may include digital resources or courses, symposia at conferences.

· Engages with the Canadian diabetes clinical community, presenting research findings, and building relationships with key clinicians, partners and associations.

· Provides guidance on T1D clinical matters across the organization and with external health/medical, regulatory and policy stakeholders in Canada.

· Stays abreast of scientific and clinical advancements in autoimmune diseases and diabetes, cell therapies, and trends in T1D research and clinical care to inform strategic decision-making.

· Collaborates with Breakthrough T1D affiliate Medical Affairs team members to identify synergies and advance global initiatives.

· Contributes to review, planning and implementation of clinical trials supported by the organization, including objectives, study design, feasibility, regulatory requirements, and identifying issues that may impede the study.

· Maintains and improves the organization’s initiatives to drive awareness of and recruitment to T1D trials in Canada, including the Breakthrough T1D Clinical Trials Finder.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

· Post-secondary degree in medicine, nursing, or related discipline.

· 5 years’ experience in patient care, research, and/or public health (diabetes experience strongly preferred).

· Knowledge of T1D and clinical research/implementation science.

· Experience designing and implementing HCP-facing programs or education – would be an asset.

· Strong ability to learn and translate complex scientific information for diverse audiences.

· Project management experience – would be an asset.

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

· Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Working Style

· Detail-oriented and highly organized.

· Strong communicator with ability to present complex information clearly.

· Collaborative and relationship-focused.

· Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Other position requirements to note:

· Fully bilingual in English and French (strongly preferred).

· Availability to travel to conferences and in-person meetings periodically (up to 10%).

Salary Range: Anticipated to be $80,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with skills and experience level of the selected candidate.

Location Preference: Anywhere within Canada.
