Breakthrough T1D is adding to our Marketing and Communications team and we’re searching for an experienced coordinator for the new role of National Bilingual Translation and Communications Coordinator.

If you’re bilingual and a strong writer, with great communication skills, who would like to support French translation requirements across the country, ensuring consistent terminology and quality standards, please read on to see if this is the right fit for you.

Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:

· Coordinate requests for translation from departments across the organization, ensuring translation quality standards and deadlines are met, and alignment with Breakthrough T1D messaging and brand.

· Utilize Computer Assisted Translation tools (e.g. Phrase/Trados) as well as translation software to support development of French language copy and maintenance of French language term base.

· Manage intake, translation and delivery of requests in accordance with delivery standards.

· Utilize and coordinate external translators/agency support for revisory work and translation of priority projects (e.g. Annual Impact Report) as directed and in accordance with clear guidelines.

· Complete some English-to-French translation and revision for short-form, time-sensitive materials as required.

· Review, revise and edit externally translated materials to ensure accuracy, plain-language usage, consistent terminology, and alignment with Breakthrough T1D messaging and guidelines.

· Complete final quality checks on French-language deliverables prior to publication (formatting, links, numbers, proper nouns, and consistency with approved terminology).

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

· 1-3 years translation experience (English to French)

· Strong writing skills in French and English

· Translation and technical tools knowledge

· Project coordination and organizational skills

· Collaborative and administrative skills

Working Style

· Highly organized and detail-oriented

· Service-oriented

· Adaptable and able to prioritize

· Proactive and quality-focused

Other position requirements to note:

· Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information

· Comfort working across departments at a national level

· Willingness to balance strategic and hands-on work

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

The salary range for this role is anticipated to be $55,000 - $62,000, commensurate with skills and experience level of the selected candidate.

Location Preference: Anywhere within Canada
