NATIONAL AWARENESS PROGRAMS MANAGER
Position Summary
Location: Toronto, ON – In Person
Reports to: VP, National Awareness
Employment Type: 1 Year Contract, Full-Time (with benefits and possibility of renewal)
Salary Range: $72,000 – $82,000
Under the supervision of CANFAR’s VP of National Awareness, the National Awareness Programs Manager will lead CANFAR’s national awareness and educational programs, including program design and planning, fundraising and impact reporting, national knowledge dissemination, resource and content development, partnership-building, community outreach, advisory committee engagement, and monitoring and evaluation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the VP of National Awareness, the National Awareness Programs Manager will be responsible for:
- Executing CANFAR’s national awareness plans and youth program, and developing annual funder impact reports.
- Managing internal and external resources to ensure the timely execution and completion of deliverables for projects.
- Leading and maintaining the growth strategy of CANFAR’s youth digital resource, Sexfluent, including overseeing the program’s content calendars, vendor contracts, managing project timelines and deliverables, and supporting the development of educational content and copywriting for social media, website blog posts and outreach,
- Developing and updating the program plan to meet the needs of youth and program growth targets, while creating and executing the program measurement and evaluation tools to align with Sponsor priorities.
- Supporting CANFAR’s national awareness campaigns, such as the annual World AIDS Day campaign, including community and government outreach, managing and coordinating project timelines and deliverables, coordinating with internal and external partners, supporting the content development as well as national distribution channels, and key metrics evaluation.
- Conducting and researching national outreach opportunities with community organizations working with Indigenous youth, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and street-involved youth to expand Sexfluent’s footprint and network, nationally, as per the goals of CANFAR’s national youth awareness program.
- Building and maintaining community partnerships to enhance and grow Sexfluent’s reach and impact with relevant audiences, and tracking the impact of these partnerships.
- Finding and creating opportunities for Sexfluent and CANFAR’s exposure to youth workers, teachers, youth-serving organizations, and others that support youth.
- Conducting consultations with youth participants to better understand and respond to their sexual and mental health needs, informing the ongoing evolution and improvement of CANFAR’s youth digital platform.
- Supporting CANFAR’s national ambassadors program by managing and executing a calendar of speaking opportunities (internal and external) as well as funding and development opportunities to increase CANFAR’s GIPA-MEPA strategy.
- Supporting CANFAR’s communications on its national awareness programs for use in CANFAR’s communication channels, including social media, website, newsletters, and other publications or initiatives.
- Participating positively as a member of the CANFAR team.
- Serving as custodian of CANFAR’s brands, including Sexfluent, and reputation – ensuring that the CANFAR brand is positioned and represented in such a way that will benefit the Foundation and protect and enhance its reputation.
- Assisting with other CANFAR programs and events as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, certificate or equivalent in Public Health or Global Health, International Development Studies and/or Community Development, Sociology, Women’s and Gender Studies, Sexual Diversity Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, evaluation, and budget monitoring.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a related non-profit or youth sector and/or educational programming.
- Strong understanding of HIV/AIDS and associated issues, including structural inequities, as related to CANFAR’s mission.
- Strong organizational management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, self-manage, and manage both internal and external resources to ensure timely deliverables on projects.
- Strong critical thinking and analytic skills.
- Flexible problem solver, innovative or creative thinker and solutions-oriented professional, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communications skills, with proven experience in report writing and presentations.
- Fluency in French (oral and written) an asset.
- Passion and interest in advancing social causes, youth education, community engagement, and relationship-building.
