Unpaid Volunteer Position

The 2026 Kingston-Belleville MS Walk is back on Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at Lake Ontario Park and Pavilion (920 King Street West, Kingston, ON)!

MS Walk is a one-day event happening in over 50 in-person locations in Canada where people living with and/or affected by multiple sclerosis come together. Whether you live with MS or know someone who does, MS Walk is the best place to forge meaningful connections and build lifelong relationships that bring us closer toward a world free of MS.

As part of the MS Walk Committee, you will plan and execute an inclusive, engaging event to connect and empower the MS community in your region. MS impacts all Canadians, which is why we urge people to move forward together at MS Walk and help build awareness for the disease, raising much needed funds to allow us to continue to support people affected by MS. This is a great opportunity to make an impact in your community using your talent and time.

The Community Engagement Coordinator should be enthusiastic about networking with new people and promoting MS Walk. They will investigate, support and participate in recruitment initiatives including virtual/community events, promotional material distribution, and other local activities to promote the MS Walk effectively in the community and surrounding areas.

  • Work with MS volunteer team to focus on recruiting new volunteers in their local community through community outreach – volunteer fairs, presentations, etc.
  • Research and attend local events (virtual or in person) that suit MS Walk demographics and assist with organizing presence at those events. Look for free or low-cost advertising opportunities
  • Help organize ‘lunch and learns (virtually, and/or in person) to local community groups and businesses to promote MS Walk
  • Approach local businesses to assist with recruitment through displaying MS Walk information on their signs/billboards, adding MS Walk information in company newsletters, putting in a team, etc.
  • Champion the Walk in your community by promoting the event and helping to recruit participants and day-of-event volunteers
